Selected for the Outstanding Overseas Talent Program, Professor Li (born in 1980) joined the faculty of the China University of Political Science and Law in 2006, becoming one of the youngest professors of law nationwide. As an experienced Master’s Supervisor, he is responsible for instructing both undergraduate and graduate students. Meanwhile, Professor Li holds a joint appointment with the China-EU School of Law.


Professor Li teaches courses in civil procedure, foreign civil procedure law, civil litigation & alternative dispute resolution, American civil practice & remedies, torts, American tort law, and comparative law of contracts. Besides being an innovator of the Bilingual Teaching Method, he is also the creator of a Capstone Course in civil procedure law, in which students are required to play the role of lawyers in a semester-long complex simulation integrating the diverse areas of civil litigation with practice skills and issues of ethics and professionalism.


Professor Li specializes in dispute resolution, civil & merchant laws & intellectual property. As a distinguished scholar in the field of torts, his current research focuses on product liability, and his most recent publications in this area include “Concise Chinese Tort Law” (Springer, April 2014) and “FDA Food Safety Modernization Act and Its Enlightenment” (Journal of Dalian University of Technology, February 2012).


Professor Li received his LL.B. from Fudan University Law School in 2002, and his J.D. from University of Minnesota Law School in 2005. He was a clerk at the Supreme People’s Court of the PRC and a summer-intern of Morrison & Forester LLP during his student days.
