Professor Liu Ying and Associate Professor Zheng Xuanyu Went to the United States to attend the International Symposium on “the Changing Regulation of Biopharmaceuticals: Pricing, Intellectual Property, Ethics and Trade”

From April 5 to 6, 2019, Professor Liu Ying, Secretary and Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Law Institute of Civil Business and Economic Law School, and Associate Professor Zheng Xuanyu, Deputy Director, were invited to attend the international symposium on the Changing Regulation of Biopharmaceuticals: Pricing, Intellectual Property, Ethics and Trade sponsored by the global center of Mc George Law School, University of the Pacific, in Sacramento, California. They made keynote speeches entitled “Legal Research on the Regulation of Health and Medical Data” and “Thoughts on the Duration of China's Pharmaceutical Patent Protection”.

During the symposium, Professor Liu Ying and Associate Professor Zheng Xuanyu had in-depth exchanges with experts and scholars from University of the Pacific, Stanford University and other universities, expanded the international academic influence of China University of Political Science and Law and its intellectual property law discipline, and extended channels for international academic exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Experts and scholars from VIT University (India), Biotechnology Innovation Organization of Drake University Law School (USA), Law School of Wake Forest University (USA), Law School of Texas A & M University (USA), Copenhagen University (Denmark) and Gibson Law (USA) also attended the symposium. The symposium took half a year to prepare the meeting, which Professor Liu Ying is as one of the initiators and coordinators.
