On the afternoon of May 17, 2019, the appointment ceremony of visiting professor André Janssen was held in Changping campus. Professor Yu Fei, Deputy Dean of the Civil Business Economic Law School (who presided over the work), awarded him the appointment on behalf of the school.

Professor Yu Fei expressed welcome to Professor André Janssen on behalf of the school and thanked him for bringing a wonderful lecture on basic case analysis of claim to undergraduates on May 14. The school attached great importance to international cooperation and exchange. Professor Yu Fei said that Professor Janssen is a well-known young and middle-aged scholar in the field of private law in Europe and welcomed his active participation in the teaching and research work of the school in the future. Professor Janssen said that he felt honored to be invited as a visiting professor of the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, and looked forward to teaching and holding lectures at the university in the future. He will carry out cooperative research with Chinese teachers of the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School on issues of common interest, such as codification of civil law and artificial intelligence, so as to substantially promote cooperation and exchange between the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School and Radboud University (Netherlands) Law School, where he teaches. The two sides made in-depth discussions on cooperation issues and reached a preliminary consensus.

Jin Jing, Associate Professor of Civil Law Research Institute, and Yan Jingjing, Director of the foreign affairs office, also attended the appointment ceremony.

Appendix: Profile of Professor André Janssen

André Janssen, currently Professor of Private Law at the Law School of Radboud University (Netherlands), Chief Editor of European Review of Private Law (ERPL). Professor Janssen obtained a doctor’s degree in law from University of Minster (Germany) and was a professor of Law School of Catholic University of Lyon (France) and City University of Hong Kong (China). He focused on many research fields such as European civil law, consumer protection law, international commercial law. He is a member of International Consumer Association, German Arbitration Association, German Institute of Comparative Law, Dutch Institute of Comparative Law and Italian Institute of Comparative Law. He was awarded the Marie Curie Prize by the European Commission.
