Professor Zhang Qinyu Gave a Lecture Entitled "An Overview of The Law of the People's Republic of China on Foreign Investment" at the University of Trento

On April 3, 2023, at the invitation of the Law School of the University of Trento in Italy, Professor Zhang Qinyu from the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School at China University of Political Science and Law gave a lecture entitled " An Overview of The Law of the People's Republic of China on Foreign Investment ". The lecture was held in a combination of online and offline formats and was hosted by Professor Ivan Cardillo. The lecture was attended by teachers and students from the Institute of Chinese Law at the University of Trento.

Professor Zhang Qinyu analyzed the innovative provisions in the Law of the People's Republic of China on Foreign Investment against the backdrop of its formulation and elaborated in detail on China's measures to promote, protect, and manage foreign investment. Professor Zhang Qinyu pointed out that the Law of the People's Republic of China provides for the Pre-establishment national treatment and other preferential treatment, emphasizing the strengthening of services for foreign investment and optimizing the investment environment, thereby attracting foreign capital and further promoting China's opening up.

Professor Zhang Qinyu introduced that the formulation of the Law of the People's Republic of China fully reflects the principle of equality between domestic and foreign capital. The Pre-establishment national treatment and negative lists for foreign investment before admission are conducive to creating a fair and good competitive market environment for domestic and foreign enterprises. It is a manifestation of the continuous improvement and development of China's legal system for foreign investment.




At the end of the lecture, Professor Ivan Cardillo summarized and thanked Professor Zhang Qinyu for sharing her academic achievements.


This lecture promoted academic exchanges between our university and the teachers and students of the University of Trento in Italy, deepening cooperation between the two institutions.
