CUPL Law Research Center for International Chinese Language Education Officially Established

On the morning of December 13, 2021, the "International Chinese Language Education Week 2021 (the ICLEW 2021) - Closer Partnership, Better Future", hosted by the Sino-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education (Language Cooperation Center), was held at Wutong Auditorium of Beijing Language and Culture University. Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education and Chairman of the National Language Commission delivered a speech and awarded plaques for the new research centers for international Chinese language education. CUPL President Ma Huaide received the plaque for the Law Research Center for International Chinese Language Education, CUPL, at the launching ceremony. Yu Fei, Dean of the Civil, Commercial and Economics Law School and Li Dandan, Director of the Confucius Institute Office of CUPL attended the ceremony too.

In order to promote the sustainable and high-quality development of international Chinese education, CUPL has cooperated with the Language Cooperation Center to establish the Law Research Center for International Chinese Language Education, which is also the first law research center in this field. The center will rely on the CUPL’s strong resources to carry out research on major legal issues related to international Chinese education, provide legal consulting services for major development issues, and the school will assist it in the development of laws and regulations and legal training.

As the initiator and undertaker, the Civil, Commercial and Economics Law School, on the basis of relying on the superior disciplines, will coordinate the international and domestic resources to carry out relevant law research and consulting in a targeted way, and make every effort to promote the development of international Chinese language education.
