On the evening of April 22, 2019, the first session on “Innovation in Teaching: Trilogy of Base of Claim Right” lecture series of the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School was held in Liu Huangfa Academic Lecture Hall, Changping Campus, China University of Political Science and Law. The spacious lecture hall was packed, and the audience was enthusiastic.
This lecture mainly explores what Base of Claim Right is, what is the relationship between Base of Claim Right and case analysis, and how to use the Base of Claim Right method to solve a case. The lecture was given by Professor Marco Haase from the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), and Professor Li Shuzhong, Vice President of China University of Political Science and Law who was invited as a special guest. The lecture was chaired by Professor Yu Fei, Deputy Dean (chairing the work) of the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School, discussed by Associate Professor Wu Xiangxiang from the Institute of Civil Law, translated by Associate Professor Jin Jing.

Guest speaker Marco Haase first thanked President Li and Dean Yu for their invitations. After a brief introduction to the German International Cooperation Agency, German legal education, German national examination system, and the purpose of cultivating legal talents, Professor Haase emphasized the importance of cultivating the correct thinking of Base of Claim Right for beginners in law.

In Liu Huangfa Academic Lecture Hall, the first session on the “An Innovation in Teaching: Trilogy of Base of Claim Right” lecture series of the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School came to an end with the warm applause of the students of Law. The participating students generally reflected that through this lecture, they had a deeper understanding and experience of the Base of Claim Right. They hoped to continue to participate in follow-up activities and learn more about the doctrines, methods and opinions of teachers.
In order to deepen the reform of law teaching methods and explore new models for training legal talents, the Civil and Commercial Economic law School of the China University of Political Science and Law cooperated with the German International Cooperation Agency and launched the “An Innovation in Teaching: Trilogy of Base of Claim Right” activityinthe2019 spring term. There are three series under the activity: lecture series, demonstration courses series and case session series. Among them, three series of introductory lectures are for undergraduates, eight series of demonstration courses are for teachers, and case session series will be offered to undergraduates in the fall semester. This is the first lecture on Base of Claim Right series.
