“Base of Claim Right” lecture series Session 3 given by Professor Marco Haase

On the evening of June 3, 2019, the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School of the China University of Political Science and Law successfully held the 3rd session of “An Innovation in Teaching: Trilogy of Base of Claim Right” lecture series in the sixth lecture theatre at Changping campus. Like the previous two lectures, the theatre was packed.

This session was given by Professor Marco Haase, Deputy Director of China-Germany Legal Cooperation Project of German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), chaired by Professor Yu Fei, Deputy Dean of the Civil and Commercial Economic Law School (chairing the work), reviewed by Wu Xiangxiang, Associate Professor of the Civil Law Research Institute, and was translated by Associate Professor Jin Jing.

Professor Yu Fei first shared his understanding of base of claim right with the students and encouraged them to actively participate in the future appraisal case analysis seminar.

Then, Associate Professor Jin Jing introduced “Banana Peel Case”, the case of this session and asked students try to analyze the case by using the basic analysis method of Base of Claim Right.

Then, Professor Marco Haase, from the perspective of German Law, analyzed the “Banana Peel Case” by the basic case analysis method of claim. He cited relevant legal provisions and combined them with the case and finally reached a conclusion. In the end, Professor Marco Haase had a certain reflection on the structure of the German liability law system.

Associate Professor Wu Xiangxiang was analyzing Chinese law

Professor Wu Xiangxiang analyzed the Banana Peel Case from the perspective of Chinese law, which deepened and strengthened the students’ understanding of the basic case analysis method of claim.

Finally, Professor Yu Fei expressed his sincere thanks to Professor Marco Haase, Associate Professor Wu Xiangxiang and Associate Professor Jin Jing for their efforts and contributions to this session. He hoped that students could learn something from it. The session ended in thunderous applause from the students. Through this lecture, students gained a deeper understanding and experience of Base of Claim Right.
